Yes I do think we can get to a Boise level or beyond. But it will tkae a continued commitment on part of incoming SJS prez to maintian the momentum we have. There's apparently going to be an annoucnement soon about stadium upgrades. I've been hearing figures in the range of 50-80 million being spent to upgrade/update the old gal. THAT will go a very long way and send a HUGE message to all of college football. Kassing's office has managed to find ways to adequately compensate our football staff and athletic administration. That MUST continue as well. We must find a way to cease the perpetual turnover in the coaching ranks and need to find a way to keep Bowen around for a long long time as well. The rest should take care of itself.
: that SJSU can rise to the level of a Boise
: State or beyond? If so, what do you think it
: will take?
:
: Tomey will get things going but won't be
: here long. Will he be able to make the
: program attractive to an up and coming
: coach?
:
: I think a major roadblock to that is any
: coach that makes a name at SJSU will be
: looking to upgrade to a BCS conference
: school. Not only for name recognition and
: career advancement, but for the money.
:
: Michigan will soon be looking for a new
: coach. They can easily pay $3-4 mil/year
: without getting anywhere close to the
: general fund of the school.
:
: What will it take for SJSU to get anywhere
: near that level, and do any of you truly
: believe it's realistic?
