They have to win those games if the want to become respected across the country. Beating USC will also pay huge dividends nationally as a LOT of the top players watch SC closely.

especially if Cal consistently wins. They aren't known as a football power outside of the West Coast, but if they continue to schedule teams like Tenn and win, it will pay off recruiting-wise.
