Cleve from Ontario, CA: How do you feel John Broussard is faring next to the other receivers, as far making the squad? Has he stood out in training camp? Vic: What’s not to like? He’s fast, adjusts well to the ball and catches it. I think his ability to adjust to the ball in the air is his greatest strength. This is another guy to put on the watch list. and Sharp rehearsal With the flick of his wrist Friday, Byron Leftwich might have shaken fans' trepidation about the offense, replacing it with excitement. In front of 11,039 at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, Leftwich completed 10 of his first 12 passes in leading the offense to a 46-13 romp over the defense in the club's intrasquad scrimmage... ...Rookie John Broussard led the club with three catches for 62 yards. and 08/02/07 Join jaguars.com senior editor Vic Ketchman as he tackles the fans' tough questions. Robert from Columbia, MD: What wide receivers have surprised you so far in camp? How has Jimmy Farris looked? Vic: Mike Walker, as I’ve said, has been the star among the wide receivers. He is, without a doubt, the Jaguars’ most talented wide receiver. The Jaguars need to find a receiver worthy of the “number one” distinction and Walker is the guy who has the tools to be a “one.” I don’t know if that qualifies as a surprise, however, because we all saw his talent in spring drills. Seventh-round pick John Broussard has surprised me. I knew he was a speed guy but that reputation is usually accompanied by a reputation for having hands of stone. Broussard doesn’t have hands of stone. He catches the ball well. So I have a fast guy who has good hands. What’s not to like?
