Posted by bambi2godzilla on 6/12/2007, 7:40 pm It's whoever has the most posts wins! Why in the world did Coach Tomey schedule four consecutive away games to start the season? (Arizona State, Kansas State, Stanford and Utah State). The league one might have been unchangeable but... The payouts should be good for the first two but Dennis Erickson is going to have his new team laoded for bear and Kansas State rarely loses at home, especioally so in non conference games. Expect Erickson's offense to be a major, major challege: "ASU's offense is led by junior quarterback Rudy Carpenter, who has started 18 consecutive games for the Sun Devils. The driving force of the ASU offense is its incredible stable of running backs, highlighted by the dangerous combination of senior Ryan Torain and junior Keegan Herring. The Sun Devil offensive line features five seniors, including standouts Zach Krula, Mike Pollak and Brandon Rodd, while senior wide receiver Rudy Burgess and senior tight end Brent Miller round out the skill position athletes." K-St. has some big boys on the O-line, all at 300 lbs. or more + soph Josh Freeman at qb but he was the primary starter last season. Check out his size 6-6, 240. He and Adam ought to face off mano a mano. Here's Freeman's details: Appeared in 11-of-13 games, including starts in the final eight contests of the season ... Took over at quarterback during the second half of game No. 5 at Baylor and directed the K-State offense the rest of the season ... Earned honorable mention freshman All-America honors from The Sporting News ... Was the lone true freshman quarterback in the country to lead his team to a bowl game during 2006 ... Threw for a K-State freshman record 1,780 yards on 140-of-270 passing (52 percent)... K-St's Yamon Figurs at WR runs a 4.29 forty. Get Dwight on him. Jim Harbaugh is going to provide some spunk up on The Farm but it will be a winnable game for SJSU. Too many consecutive poor recruiting classes will haunt Stanford for some time. But Utah State is a winner for SJSU, providing the Spartans are still intact. UC Davis and Idaho are wins at home but Hawaii will be a big challenge even at Spartan Stadium. Can Colt Brennan be contained? I'm not so sure on that one. Then comes Fresno State and Boise State on the road. The denizens of Fresno will not pu up with another season like the last but the Dogs have holes to fill. Even Boise does but I have to go with a split here, a win against Fresno but a loss to Boise. New Mexico State at Spartan Stadium is do-able as is winning on the road against Louisiana Tech. Finally, Nevada comes down here and I think this is the year SJSU breaks the jinx. The Pack goes down making the drive back seem even longer. My guess is a 8-4 overall record with momentum building tow ards the end but do keep in mind that Vegas isn't exactly setting odds based my ouija board.

Pardon me if I'm confused as I thought it was Phil's Message Board here but it should probably be changed to the P & A MB.
