You're right about the Merc trying to sell papers. But the Merc sees itself as the 'organization' that is going to 'test' Mayor Chuck Reed's campaign promise for open government. It was only a matter of time before some issue came up for the Merc to grab onto and test the Mayor. Unfortunately, it happenned to be connected to our possible new stadium. Unfortunately, I doubt this will be the last article/editorial on this subject.
