Nose wrinkles, as Lycoris buries deeper into the bolds of mane of her old friend, a Queen, an Oracle. She breathes out earth and it tangles against the bay, who Hesper then takes a step away, cautious (finally) of her mother, who was still babbling into the skin of Nyota. But her ears flick and eyes brighten, smile widening on her face. “Holden!?” She gushes out her name, and suddenly appears a little bit flustered and shares with herself a giddy giggle.
But Lycoris still chatters away, teeth clacking together and the earth sprawling from her in waves of foliage and flowers, and it wraps around the ground and stretches for Nyota with loving limbs, with maliciously loving, and lustful limbs, rough and overbearing, it was sprawled across Lycoris. It’s as Bifröst, the coloured air tangles around Hesper and away from Lycoris, does Hesper turn back to Nyota, and cringe at her words. The flush that the thought of Holden had caused was gone and worry creased her amber eyes.
“Uhmmm, I’m not sure it’s a good thing Nyota,” Hesper whispers, and air spills from her breath, that tugs out a plant growing from her mother’s flank. “It makes her crazy, you see,” Hesper steps around the oak tree, to peer at her mother and friend from behind it, one ear forwards one ear back. “I think one day it will swallow her whole…” Her brow creases and she mutters, almost nothing under her breath, lost in a rustle of wind, “And then I won’t have a mother,”
... fingers crossed, all is not lost...
