The birds quieting at her silent command. She stepped forward, recognizing the blank stare. A stare she so often mimicked as she looked out over the Range. Yes, that is what it used to be called. Wolfrange. Had she really forgotten? Surly not, but the memory was so worn and faded by now. She shook her head softly in reply to Fei's apology. "It doesn't bother me." The large face of a white wolf. A wolf that had protected her from many, but not all, things in her life. Then there was the vague scent of hot desert sand against her skin. Something she could never completely get rid of. Something she wasn't sure she really wanted to get rid of. It was still a part of her after all. It had been years since that night. That first night she can remember at the element. She was wondering alone, sleep walking. Mumbling nothingness as visions crept into her mind's eye. She had found the mare that night. She had become her shadow. Mud-water color and all. She had loved the mare the first time she saw her - with all her heart. Her life was never the same after she had left, and now she can see in Fei's ageless eyes that her mind could not remember her. She wanted to weep and run to her and tell her who she was. She wanted to scream at her and release Fury for her abandonment. But she only stood there, composed and contained. Saying nothing more, because well, maybe she shouldn't remind her. It may be better that way. Or if she was going to remember it might be better she remembered on her own. "I am glad you have found your way back, Fei. The birds have missed you." Their songs were never as sweet when the gray mare was gone, in fact Oceantree wasn't sure she could even remember them after she left. It was almost as if they had left Wolfrange with her.
