Before the shadows, comes the rainbows.
Hesper can hear Oceantree, and in a matter of moments want to run there, but Lycoris grasps her withers. There is whining and fighting and throwing rainbows and currents, and it distracts the filly. So the speckled mother is happy to tackle, and wrap her daughter up, and chase her through forests and laugh and tumble through grass. The blossom planted in her hair still stayed there, ripe and fresh, and Lycoris knew that eventually, eventually her child would take on earth. She could see it in those amber eyes, even if they were the same as hers. The amber eyes begged for flowers and grass and life, the flower blossom in her mane, and Hesper could talk to the trees, or so it seemed. Lycoris could not wait for the day when Hesper grabbed earth and stuck it on her chest with pride. Because others would be proud as well. Micah, he’d be proud.
Lycoris leads the way towards Oceantree, with rainbows flicking out of her in bows and ribbons and swirls. They curl and crawl, and make carpets in front of the air pair. Hesper, however, at the moment of sighting Twee, leaps forth, letting out a fierce, “Meow!” Because that seems suitable for Hesper’s favourite (and we’ll forget that it’s also her only), cat-pony friend.
“Twee!” It bleats from her mouth as her air wraps around her and wondering leans forwards, her eyes suddenly caught on the stark foal. “Whoareyou?” Amber eyes turn curiously on the filly and Twee takes a step forwards with flickering nostrils, and her body rocks back and forth pensively. Lycoris, however presses her head against Oceantree, and places a platonic kiss against her cheek, and she dotes upon her friend with love and gushes and good wishes and congratulations and everything that is bright and sunshiney and filled with rainbows. But she leaves all in her mind, because she know Oceantree can still get it all there.
... fingers crossed, all is not lost...
