Skylar does not move from the side of her father. There is enough on her mind to keep her distant from the conversation and simply linger on her father’s side. She doesn’t know how to tell him, because she knows how he will react. Nicodemus hadn’t been there for her most her life, and it seemed that now he was making up for it by being extremely overprotective. He was treating her like a china doll, and it was making her upset. How would he react to the thought of his only daughter being with-child? Skylar was truly lost for words. But then Lycoris smiles to her, and the girl returns the smile, her long milk-white mane acting as a veil. She would always hold this shyness about her.
She speaks to Nicodemus and he snorts lightly. Lycoris’ attention shifts to the wolverine. Keir flashes Lycoris a lazy set of canines before yawning and tucking his head back into his body, appearing much like a large cat nestled tightly in a tight place. Nicodemus laughed. Some familiar. Andraste of course could always be counted on, swooping in and out of each of Lycoris’ legs to call attention back to herself.
Soon she is back to Skylar, and the girl smiles shyly once more. “I am.” Her voice is different than her fathers because where his is power and strength, hers was gentle and singing, airy and light. It seemed that beautiful voices ran in the family. She smiles again, only this time less shy than before. Still, it is all that she says, all that she would say unless asked other questions.
Nicodemus watches them in silence, a small smile upon his lips. Skylar was all that he had left, and he would do everything he could for her. It took him a moment to realize that Lycoris had asked him a question. He shakes his mane, smoke rising from his mane. “I was….” He was thinking how to word it correctly. No luck. “Warning Voraer not to touch you again.” He chuckles.
Oh the nightmares that would haunt him.
“Can you not stay out of trouble, Lycoris?”
