Alcatraz had decided to visit Fenrisulfr in her own home, perhaps to give her thanks and his eternal gratitude for her help.. Who am I kidding. He didn’t really. He really only wanted to visit her to ask who his January steal should be. Well, I guess it’s February now. ####. He doesn’t keep track of time very well.
That was when he came across Artaxxas. There was something familiar about her – from her obvious warrior heritage to her ugly features. She reminded him of Dorian. But there was something else about her that intrigued him. He stepped closer, his eyes narrowed as he scrutinized her. His dark eyes widened as he recognized the three claw-marks that adorned her shoulder. He knew that shard, he wasn’t stupid. He remembered Kale’s mark. But she couldn’t be Kale’s slave. Nor Stelios’. They were both gone.
He growled, pulling closer. Artaxxas lifted her head, a look of fear and mistrust crossing her features.
Alcatraz smiled.
Artaxxas abruptly balked, recognizing the savagery in his eyes. She knew now why had Fenris had warned her of the Shard’s terrible abilities. It told her to fight, yet her body screamed to run. “No!” She howled, her body erupting in flame. She would fight to the death to keep the stallion from obtaining the shard. For Andarin. For Fenrisulfr.
“Blitzstrahl.” He snarled, his voice hardly audible. Artaxxas growled, charging towards him with her ears pinned – and she froze midstride as the thunderbolt hit her. Her body instantly went rigid, and every hair of hers stood upright. The smell of burnt flesh slowly wafted towards the cruel stallion.
“Wolkere.” He smiled. His Lightning pounced deftly at his command. Effortlessly.
The fire-brandishing mare had no chance.
He watched his lightning swarm her, the bright lights and savage bolts extinguishing her fire. Her black body was burnt and broken. He strolled towards her. A look of anguish was stamped permanently across her face, and her legs gave out under her. She fell to the earth with a thud.
He stepped towards her. Alcatraz stopped, his hooves right in front of her fallen body. It was limp now, bent and broken. He dropped his head, his jaw opening as he brushed his muzzle along the nape of her neck where the shard was nestled. Instantly he felt the shard’s warmth seep through him. It bonded with him instantly, becoming one with his violent body.
Alcatraz lifted his ugly head, his dark eyes surveying his surroundings. No one was near. He grunted, tucking his head towards his massive chest as he reared upwards, his hooves out in front of him. He uncurled his powerful legs, landing with a sickening thud on the skull of the fallen mare. Blood splattered and bones splintered as he landed heavily on her skull, and a low hissing groan escaped her body. Her brains spilled across the dark earth. Alcatraz nonchalantly then pivoted on his haunches, wiping his hooves in the long slender blades of grass as he went.
Business, per usual.
He’ll visit Fenrisulfr some other time. Something tells him she might not be pleased to see him today.
