I am researching my late father's time in the Royal Marines during World War Two. I know that he was in Southend from July 1944 until November 1944. Would anybody out there remember where the Royal Marines would have been based. I am looking for the name of the camp - Leigh, Safeguard or Westcliff have been suggested, but never proven. Also, any photographs of the area around this time would also be very welcome. As far as the pictures are concerned, I will pay all expenses incurred.
