I believe Southend still has appeal as a "Day Trip",resort. To certain members of socieity i believe Southend would be of great historical importance.Henry VIII's naval fleet, Priory park,the Thames estuary in general.
Southend has changed since i lived there, having remained in touch. The amount of ethnic minorities has changed i.e. 1960/70s Southend had very few. Althoug i seem to remember the 70s Southend Utd side had black players! Some things have not changed, excuse my Political ignorance but, something isnt right! Southends council does not seem to realize Southends potential. Londons 3rd airport . 30 minute train journey to London.

Finally the way i would like to improve Southend would b to provide alternative activities for the ever growing amount of SMACKheads!
