I see your points. I have personally never worked with one, but I would think with the right training an SLPA could probably successfully treat those with artic errors fairly easily. I would not feel comfortable with one working with language, fluency, or more severe disabilities like autism.
I would ask your school how you will be financially compensated for someone working on YOUR license. I would look into the legality of this. I cannot imagine they could make you allow another person to work on your license and I cannot imagine it would be legal for them to fire you if you refuse. I would research this and speak to your union.
And when on earth will you have the time to meet with this SLPA to go over treatment plans anyway?
