We consider 85 the cut off for language (any scores below are qualifying) and academic performance. For articulation, according to our laws there must be an academic impact, so if a score in articulation is above 85, but the child's errors could affect academic performance (including being made fun of) or your conversation sample shows decreased intelligible then they would be eligible. We tend to use 80% or 90% as mastery but I don't know why! Most of the SLPS in my district wait until a child is near 95% in conversation before dismissing for articulation. Lots of us perfectionists, you know! Plus, we wouldn't want the child to move or be out for awhile and then have to be put back in when older.
