I only have 35 kids on my caseload, which alone would definitely be manageable (I'm in Georgia, which I was told has a cap of 40 students). HOWEVER, I'm also expected to serve 31 other students through RTI - about 15 of those students I see for 30 minutes a week. The rest I have to go into the classroom and monitor, observe, etc. So I'm directly serving 50 kids per week plus monitoring all of the other kids. The BEST part is that NONE of my RTI kids count toward my caseload, which means I'm really not getting paid for working with them. If there is going to be this big RTI push, I think states need to take a second look at how they do their funding.
