I'm in IN, no caseload cap, have 90 on my caseload w/ the help of an SLP-A 3 days per week. Includes 50% special ed, 10% autism / moderately delayed students. 1 elem, 1 Jr. High, and 1 HS. While I am very grateful to have my SLP-A (many of my colleagues have 90+ without any help), I do feel that I have to cancel therapy or rearrange my schedule to have larger groups to fit in things like evaluations and the neverending paperwork. I used to do this job all by myself (at one point had 115 till I said find some help or I quit) and would do paperwork at home till all hours of the night. I refuse to do that anymore. While I do stay after school usually 1-3 days per week for an extra 1-2 hours, I do the bulk of my paperwork during school hours. That is an important part of my job too, not just seeing the kids for therapy. Although I really wish the paperwork requirements would disappear and I could focus on what I love the most--- working with the kids!
