In my fantasy world, irregardless of severity level I would like to be like a regular teacher at 25..learning support and autistic support have less about 12-15, same with life skills.....wait...we ALSO have ALL of them on our caseload! Why are WE different?! My cap in PA is 65. Last year I had close to 90 in spite of the "cap". I spend the vast majority of my time doing sped paperwork and medicaid billing, not seeing kids or individualizing therapy/planning sessions for them. ASHA has "recommended" but never pursued seriously the caseload issue. I am sick to death of ASHA and will yet be held captive in paying my exorbitant dues next month...what do they do for those of us in the schools.....Nothing.
