Sorry, I was away for a few days - here's the answer I put for your other post -
That's how to get percent syllables stuttered. So, you could say that 93.5% of his syllables were said fluently. Most parents, in my experience, care more for the percent that the child is not fluent and if he/she has learned ways to help during those times
.
For your other question, the SSI-3 doesn't count fillers as dysfluencies (per the example on page 9 of the manual). What I do is get the percent syllables stuttered and then I count up all the starters (if it's in the beginning) and fillers (if it's in the middle). Then, I can add that to my report and make the determination if it's due to stuttering (an avoidance) or language formulation issues.
