I agree with Meslp, Michelle Garcia's ILAUGH program is great.
I just finished teaching a unit of being part of a group (social and school class groups) with 2nd graders. We created a rubric for what we defined the 3 parts of being in a group:
Listening with your Eyes- learning that people think that you are thinking about them when you are looking at them (that's why teachers ask you to look at them when they are speaking)
Body in the group- how subtle that can be. It doesn't take much to be out of a group physically
Mind the group- how you need to be thinking of what is going on in the group and who is talking.
Since these concepts are new, I can't say that they cured all problems, but at least we can uses common vocabulary/expectation and give positive and direct feedback. "Look, Johnny is thinking with his eyes!"
