Hello everyone,
How do you guys word IEP goals...do you write a reduction goal like Jimmy will reduce the phonological process of velar fronting to X%?...and if so to what percent do you use? I tried a couple of times and coworkers and parents couldn't seem to wrap their minds around low scores being a good thing as we are trying to extinguish something that should no longer be present. They are so conditioned to artic goals increase production to X%.
I have been writing a compromise goal and I am not sure I like it. I have been writing "Jimmy will extinguish the phonological process of velar fronting by producing velar sounds /k, g/ with 80% accuracy in 4 consecutive sessions/observations. I want to do it the RIGHT way. Dawn....What do you think?
Thanks in advance for all replies and opinions
