You have a month. If you get to work, maybe they will make some progress and your report can be more positive than it feels now. If you use a tape recorder you could pick up some speed on the aud discrim area for improving their error recognition. If you had the /r/ narrowed down into the various vocalic /r/'s, you could report on which ones are improving, and which ones continues to need more work.
