It depends on the age and educational need of the child. You may write a goal that follows Van Ripers traditional articulation therapy. Another goal is: Student will demonstrate competence in speaking by correctly articulating “s”-blends in spontaneous connected speech when expressing ideas, asking and answering questions or reading orally in the classroom with 90% accuracy as measured by a speech sample.
Again, it depends on what the child "can do" and "can't do" and what the needs are.
