Hi everybody 
I met with a parent today about his concerns regarding his 4th grade soon who is having trouble with r. I see him 1x/wk in a group of 5 for 30 minutes so I have trouble seeing any positive change. I send home practice and his parents are very supportive but they came in today very dissapointed that they dont see improvements and their kid is getting teased in class. I felt bad/stupid 
Its my 2nd year teaching so I'm still learning but I told him that it takes time and practice and I'm doing what I can in my given amount of time and I'll send home as much information as I can and give them techniques and ideas to implement at home. I think I did the right thing but I felt like an iiiiidiot. THe R is not easy and it takes tons of drilling and I dont see him enough to do that.
What do you think?
