1st grade boy completely unintelligible. Have been reading Hodson and think this is the approach to use with him - you name a process - he has it.
Also, how do I know if I should refer him to an ENT or other specialist. I don't know what to look for to determine if he has characteristics of VFI. I will refer if advised but don't want this family to pay $$$ if I'm wrong. How do I determine if his palate is long, short, arched, flat, etc? Please advise.
I've included a sample of his speech:
neh-nay/Wednesday nay/way vee/we doo/you
des/yes piteen/15 nuh/one dee/three nay/day ee/yee ma/man shoo/school teep/sheep aboo/apple bay/boy chowbay/cowboy
juh/gun chum/gum jaw/dog shoo/school beh/bed
