I AM in your position and it's driving me nuts! In fact, this said student (also 5th grade) sat at my table just this very morning. He looked me straight in the face and said he didn't have the time to practice at home. Seriously? You don't have 5 mins a day at your age? ARUGHHH!! He has the /r/ in every other position of the word but just can't get that final er. Today I tried to have him rate my speech and that seemed interesting to him but without the home practice and family follow through there isn't much for me to do in 25 mins/week. He is home schooled so I don't have any other contact with him during the week. I told him this was the finish line to his marathon and if he didn't practice "running" each day he'd never finish this marathon.
Any ideas?
