Posted by dalton on 8/22/2001, 8:41 pm the future is NOT ours. the present is ours. we cannot push off our ideals and actions. if we wait, there may be no one or nothing to save. we must act NOW. saving who and what we can. we can't fix everything (just like op ivy says), that's just a fact to be coped with. however, just because we as one individual can't change everything, we cannot give up. we have to do what we can when we can. the "what" is up to us. the "when" must be now. hopefully, with our actions, we will truly know justice, peace, and -- i hope -- peace. step up to your ability. shoulder your own weight. the future may very well be ours, but we must live in the moment, and live it to the fullest. if that makes any sense to anyone...congratulations, you're as screwed up as i am. well...maybe not. ok...all of that being said, i'm looking forward to the show this saturday. it's gonna be a show. i'll like that much. the fact that it's your last show makes it a truly bitter-sweet moment. you three have had an impact on me musically, and in the way i veiw things. you've changed someone and something. thank you for giving all of us the opportunity to listen to your music and ideas. and thank you also for being friends. allright, i'm done now. peace to all, i hope all goes well for each and all of you. take care of yourselves and each other. d
man rick...i just read your last "stuff fred wants to say"...i completely agree. everything you said is true. and we have to make the best of every moment. and it's not selfish to want to keep your friends. without friends, a person is nothing. no one can stand on their own forever. but then i re-read the first entry ("the future is ours..."). while i was at the beach, i wrote somethin' about that. if you don't mind, i'm gonna type it. and if you do mind, tough, 'cause i'm typin' it anyway.
