Of all the friends in my life I had known Rafe the longest, and this tragedy has shocked me deeply. I watched his metamorphosis from a shy prep school boy to punk to community musician who seemed to have touched so many people's lives. To me he will always be the softly-spoken boy who lived his life to the fullest and never had a bad word to say about anyone.
