I am trying to use a BASIC Stamp turn a KNEX motor on/off. I was going to use a TIP41 transistor to switch the power from the Stamp to the motor. I do not have easy access to this part, though, so I need to know if a TIP31 transistor would do the job if the HIGH command from the BASIC Stamp passes through a 1K resistor then into the TIP31. The motor is 3V.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
