Posted by mia on 3/2/2002, 10:58 am Another student, when playing a mystery game to determine what the groundhog saw on Groundhog's Day, repeatedly --despite many models and failed attempts to correct-- asked the question "Did 'grandma' see a fox/wolf/squirrel/shadow, etc." I don't know if his Grandma would be amused, but it caused a few muffled chuckles from the staff.
Love the story! In a similar vein, one of my students insists his favorite restaurant is "Old Crunchy Buffet" (that's Old Country Buffet, if this chain hasn't invaded your area yet), which could be a misarticulation....or could be an accurate reflection of the food?
