My daughter produces a fontal /s/. Now she was only three at the time, but being a speech therapist, I tried eliciting the correct production with her at home. Like I've told many a students with the same problem, I said, "close your teeth, hide your tongue, and make the snake sound /ssssss/". She quickly said, "Mommy, snakes stick their tongues out." I guess I need to find a new analogy.
