While collecting a language sample, I asked a 5-year old to explain how to make a sandwich. He named several ingredients such as "pickles, cheese, meat", etc. I continued to prompt him as he kept forgetting to mention the "bread". Finally his eyes lit up and I thought he had figured it out from the cues I had given. However he responded with "pickles" again. His mother and I looked at each other and we both laughed,"He must be on the Atkins Diet."
