My 2 yr old son has developed a bad habit of "backtalking" and has been scolded often. One night at supper, he was mouthy to his father and I corrected him "That is back talk and you know that is going to lose you a toy if you keep doing it!" A few minutes later, he politely made a request of his father, and after being acknowledged, we went back to our conversation, but not before my little guy said, very quietly "That wasn't back talk, Momma. That was front talk!"
