Posted by Jami The family had been rushing around, more so than usual, to get ready for the day. Dad had been the ones to get the girls (ages 4 and 6) ready for school. When Mom arrived at preschool to pick up her youngest daughter, imagine her horror to find out that she had been running around all morning with no panties under her little dress! So, she had to quickly hurry home to get some panties, and dress her more appropriately. Almost 20 years later, I still laugh at that one. And wonder what Dad heard when he got home from work. Jami

A number of years ago I was working, in a clinic, with a 4-year-old girl. Her mother would pick her up at preschool twice a week on her lunch hour, bring her to the clinic, eat a sack lunch in the waiting room, then return the girl to preschool afterwards. Mother was very professional, and willing to do whatever was necessary to help her daughter. Well, one day mother and daughter didn't show up for speech. After a while we became concerned, because it was so unlike her to miss an appointment without telling us. Well, finally, 20 minutes late, they breezed in with the best excuse I have ever heard. (Bear in mind this takes place long before the days of cell phones.)
