It was an annual meeting for a 4 year old boy diagnosed with PDD, high functioning, sweetist little boy. Parents brought their advocate who has two daughters of her own who have autism and takes it upon herself to lecture the team and educate us on every characteristic of autism as if we don't all have degrees and any valuable experience. (Clearly she gets paid by the hour as she tries to elongate every meeting). Anyway, as his teacher is explaining to the parents that the child is doing well socially, he is still learning how to take turns and not interrupt etc. as many 4 year olds are....yada yada the advocate interrupts and says "well he may be doing fine now but you have to remember that these kids also need to learn about appropriate comments to make to peers and adults because my daughter was the one in the public restroom loudly blurting out 'wow mom you have a lot of hair down there!' Needless to say jaws dropped and everyone else at the table turned bright red!
