At one meeting a parent accused both me and the COT-A of not seeing her child...and said we were committing Medicaid fraud! Administration was not too concerned and said that the mom either loved the teachers and other professionals, or hated them (hello, borderline personality disorder?). I was completely stunned and angry for several days after that, and was SOOOO glad she 1) said she no longer wanted speech services since her child was there to learn how to read and 2) moved her child to another school in the district. She was one of the parents who tells you that her child can do X, Y, Z and you never see any evidence of it at school...
At a recent meeting I recommended that a child who can make all his sounds when he WANTS to have reduced therapy time (2x per nine weeks for 15 minutes) and his teacher very angrily told me "That's not enough!" Mom followed the teacher's lead. Sheesh.
