74.5.24.7
Attended a conference at a neighboring school district for a preschool student----- approx. 12 professionals + parents there--- the principal kicks back and puts her feet up on her desk during the conference.
Another time narrowly escaped being the sole SLP for 2 school districts ---- the neighboring Superintendent had mine convinced that it would be easy for me to do both caseloads (total approx 150 students) with the help of 1 SLPA (no experience) so they could lessen the cost overall. The neighboring Supt. graciously offered me $2000 because that was the difference on the payscale between a masters degree and a bachelor's degree. After I picked my jaw up off of the floor, I graciously outlined supervision guidelines per our state law and told them that I felt what they wanted me to do was unethical and illegal (just go once a month and sign off on everything). Luckily, my Supt saw the light and I didn't have to do it. Oh, and my favorite quote from the neighboring Supt ---"Well, if you are not for it and your Supt is not going to force you to do it, then I guess it's a done issue." You got that right, buddy!!!!!!
