I'm always surprised when I work with young children and realize they don't know the names of the other students they've been attending speech with all year. Many of my 1st and 2nd graders just don't address each other by name very often. The other day we were playing a Go Fish type of game and these two little girls had to make requests of me, and each other, by name. One girl is named "Montana" and the other girl was very consistently calling her "Ma-hannah-tana," probably some sort of mutation of Hannah Montana. I was even more surprised when they started calling me by name. My name is Mrs. Murray, and one was calling me "Mrs. Muddy" and the other one was calling me "Mrs. Murly." Gotta love those little speechers!
