A mother of one of my kindergarteners (I worked with this child as a preschooler) called me to tell me that her son had a request for me. Thinking it was something simple like prizes or treats I didn't think much of it. This mom told me her son came home from school the first day and asked her when he was going to go to speech. When she asked him why he wanted to go to speech he said his friends couldn't understand him when when he said one and wun(run). He wanted to work on his R's so his friends could understand him. Boy was I amazed at his request. Quite the smart kid.
