Hi all--whew, end of year! We made it! One of the things I'm most glad about concerns a 6 yo that I worked with this year. He came to me after first receiving an SLI label two years ago, then he wasn't in school for a year, and he popped up in one of my school. No current IEP, so I started from scratch with a new evaluation. The bus driver got the parents to sign papers b/c no one would return them. I finished the eval., had parents sign papers in the parking lot (since they "forgot" about our meeting), and finished the paperwork. They have pulled him from school, and I haven't seen him in over two weeks. Poor guy needs so much help, but I feel good knowing that if they move again, he has everything in place to begin service right away. I did my part
