A cute little first grade boy comes to me for language therapy. I was asking him how two items were similar. He gave me a less than specific answer, so I said, "yes, that's true, but tell me more...."
He paused and studied the pictures for another minute, then answered "Sorry, Mrs. S. That's all I got!" The way he said it just cracked me up...and verified why he was coming for language therapy.
With another first grade language group, the half-hour was spent answering dozens of concrete "wh" questions. Toward the end of the session, I needed to write a quick note to one boy's teacher and was blanking on his new room assignment. "Joey," I asked. "whose room are you in?" He looked around the therapy room and, with a look that said "duh!," he replied, "um, Mrs. S, I'm right here in YOUR room." :-)
