There is a kinder boy who always wants to come to speech, but he is not a speech kiddo - He always runs up to me and asks me questions or says "Hey... want to see my work?"
Anyway, I had just dropped off some students and he was walking with his class to go to music or something - He said "hi" and then pointed up to the walls and said... "Hey, what's that.... what's that.... what's that?" He was pointing to the pink ribbons we have hanging in the hallways for Breast Cancer Awareness-- I said, "Those are pink ribbons" and before I could finish the girl next to him said.. "why?" I said something about how we hang pink ribbons for Cancer Awareness, and that's why there are so many ribbons everywhere. The little boy stopped and with a very serious look on his face he raised his index finger close to my face... he wagged it back and forth and said,
"Ya, cause cancer is afraid of pink."
if only it were true
