I have a 3yo on the caseload with severe CAS. For a long time he was completely non-verbal and didn't want to communicate at all. His Mum's an absolute trooper, has been doing a lot of work with him. She came in to see me last week, with the most beautiful tears in her eyes, telling me that he's been practicing his sounds all by himself, and took her outside to show her the flowers and said 'wowa'!
Sometimes we don't realise how hard it is for some kids - but now that he's realised he can get his message across he's trying so hard to build his skills!
