Wanted to share what is sometimes the amazing courage of the kids we work with.
I was doing a formal assessment with a little girl, the last time I would be seeing her before she started full time kindy. She often has had difficulties maintaining attention to activities, and during the assessment she worked hard to keep going even through increasing levels of frustration. Her mother and myself were also working hard to keep her on track. You might think it was cruel to keep trying and to encourage her to keep trying even though this was obviously very difficult for her. What amazed me though was that even though she did need to leave the assessment and take a break, she was able to come back and try again! I definitely admire the courage and guts of this little girl!
