I have a kindergartner that is a huge wiggle worm. To keep him in his chair, I give him a dog beanie baby to hold in his lap and I tell him that he can't let it move because it is sleeping. This has worked wonderfully b/c he dosen't want to wake the sleeping dog. I told his classroom teacher about this and she is using a horse beanie baby in the same way. Recently he was working afterschool in a tutoring session and wanted to write his letters on the chalkboard. Instead of putting down the horse to write, he tucked it under his chin and proceeded with his letters! It was the cutest thing...he was NOT going to let that horse wake up!
