I have a language group of elementary aged students with goals for vocabulary / language processing. In a recent activity, the children had to pick a card with a category, and then name 3 items. Hunter, a neat young man with Asperger's syndrome, picked the card that said "Things you enjoy doing." He quickly mentioned "Watching TV," and "Playing video games." He thought long and hard for a 3rd item. Suddenly his eyes lit up and with real excitement in his voice said, "I know! Jumping on the jump-o-line!" Yes, I guess it does sound a lot like "trampoline" and makes so much more sense!
