One day while working on comparisons, I asked a student how a refrigerator and a stove were the same. He said "they both turn hot and cold".
"Hot and cold?" I prompted. "No-you know this- Where do you go for hot food?" My second grader looked serious and replied -"to a restaurant!" (Me too!)
