One of my former fourth grade students, Brittany, has Asperger's Syndrome. Like many with her disability, Brittany loudly speaks her mind, no matter what the topic. One cold winter day, Brittany was coming in from her recess, and I was on my way out to do recess duty for another grade level. I was bundled up in my warm winter parka, which is black and has faux fur surrounding the hood. Brittany took one look at me and announced in her booming voice, "Ya better watch out for dogs, 'cause ya look like ya got a squirrel on yer head!"
