I was recently evaluating a six-year old. This child's parents are both from Africa and each of them speak a different language (in addition to broken English). I think I was giving the child the Language Processing Test-R and was on the multiple meaning portion. When asking about a "fly", this child said, "You flip it with a fly flapper". I will never think of a fly swatter in the same way. I laugh every time I think of it.
