While working diligently with one of my challenging all-boy elementary language groups, one of the boys interrupted. It was the beginning of the school year so we had only met once before. He said, "Are you sure you're my speech teacher?" I responded that yes, indeed, I was. It was my first job so I assumed he meant that I looked too young. He said, "Nah, you're too skinny to be a speech teacher!" I thanked him and continued with the session :)
