This is my first year working at my present school, which is near my home. I had another job last year in a district that was a long commute from my home.
One little boy at my new school asked me if this was my first year as a speech teacher. I told him that I had had another job last year working at another school. I told him the name of the school and asked if he had ever heard of it. He said no. I told him that the school that I worked at was far away so I wasn't surprised that he had never heard of it. He turned to me and asked, "Did you get fired?". I had to laugh at that one. I told him that I hadn't gotten fired. I had chosen to leave because I had to drive a long way to get there and that our school was close to my home. I hope that his question wasn't a commentary on what he thinks of my therapy:-}
